I was so excited to try Plant Fusion's Phood. I've been eying it since August, but I just could bring myself to buy something I couldn't taste in a single serve packet first. Finally I resolved to make that happen, and now here we are.
The Chocolate Caramel flavor was absolutely delicious. For chocolate milkshake people, this is heaven. I literally ended up chugging this because it tasted so good, and was a little sad it was gone. It had a bit of a protein after taste, but nothing I'd call gross or off putting. It definitely had that delicious burnt sugar taste of caramel under the initial flavor of tasty, sweet chocolate. I would not mind drinking this every morning.
The Vanilla flavor was also absolutely delicious. Again, it was like a milkshake, but wasn't as sweet and decadent as the Chocolate Caramel. It would be a fantastic base flavor for anyone who likes to add to their meal shake to add additional fruits or veggies.
Both flavors were made using a standard wire blender ball style shaker. Both were mixed with my preferred milk, Blue Diamond Almond Breeze in Unsweetened Vanilla. The flavor is strong enough that it would still taste good mixed with water. They both completely dissolved in the liquid and were completely smooth and creamy. Both kept me feeling full until lunch time and sat well with my fickle morning stomach. I think this would be a good option for pregnant vegans who are having a hard time keeping down food in the morning.
Now that you've formed an opinion of what flavor YOU would want to try, enter this giveaway to win a flat with twelve single serve packs of your own! Thank you to Plant Fusion for this giveaway!!

Not using one yet. I'd try to sneak it into some brownies
ReplyDeleteOccasionally I'll use a protein powder or Amazing Grass. I could definitely use the extra nutrients from Phood, but I would use it as a snack, not a meal replacement. Dying to try chocolate caramel!
ReplyDeleteI have been using Amazing Grass lately.
ReplyDeleteI have not been using a meal replacer but I would love to try this one. All of the ones i have tried in the past do not dissolve fully which is gross as I do not want a mouth full of chalky powder. As a vegan I am always looking for a delicious protein source for when I do not feel like cooking.
ReplyDeleteI miss your videos!
ReplyDeleteI am not using any protein powders right now because I don't like the taste. Hoping to find one I do like. The chocolate caramel sounds good!
